The largest corvid in Silwood is recognisable for its glossy black feathers and large black beak. It is larger than the jackdaw, and is all-black unlike the jackdaw.

Diet: Carrion, insects, grain, other birds' eggs and chicks

Origin: Native

UK conservation status: Green

IUCN conservation status: Least Concern
